Maps and spatial technologies are changing our understanding of our local community and its businesses, as well as the broader world we live in. Learn how GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is being used to study demographic change, regional growth and land use change, transportation, and more.  In the past, these complex tools were only available to programmers and tech wizards, but the technology is rapidly evolving, allow more organizations to leverage place-based and data-driven decision making. Mike Winiski, Furman University's Executive Director of Community-Engaged Learning, will share how you can learn from GIS.
